We offer programs in art & crafts with a focus on wellness and wellbeing.
Explore your creativity in a fun supportive space.
We have great facilities to cater to a variety of creative workshops.
Our current art groups are:
Artists in action - Visual Arts
Stitch & Yarn - Upcycling / crafts /felting /sewing
Mud warriors - Ceramics
Phoenix Stars - Performance/ acting/ puppets / singing/ dancing
Youth after hour program- Digital arts/ ceramics/ performance / print making
We also offer group weekly adventures and activities – Bowling, dancing classes, Weekend activities, visits to parks, cinemas and clubs. Music jam sessions and Outdoor Adventures with a BBQ or two thrown in or alternatively if you have ideas about activities you would like to experience, let us know.

You can access these art courses through your NDIS package. Support and transport options are available.
By participating in these programs, you’ll have the chance to be part of our exhibition program and showcase your work in the Phoenix Gallery retail space.
Both one-on-one and group art programs are available.
Goals: Capacity building & core support, greater social & community participation and engagement.

Edward Barnes
Edward’s unique style is characterised by the use of bright colours, bold outlines and thick brushstrokes. He excels in confident, imaginative drawings.
He has exhibited numerous times and developed a big following. His enjoyment of painting keeps growing over the years as does his art practice.
In 2024 his painting won 1st Prize at Macksville show and 3rd Prize in Ceramics. He was the winner of the inaugural Phoenix Art Prize and was selected to undertake an Artist residency in Bundanon.

Marnie Russell
Marnie is one of the original Artists in Action and has been painting for nearly 20 years.
Marnie’s cheery, feel-good artwork is a reflection of her personality.
She loves to draw and paint using a colourful palette, steady lines and flowing brushstrokes.
In 2024 her work was highly commended at the Macksville Show.

Jake Durbin
Jake is a young talented artist from Bowraville inspired by mythology and symbolism. His fine penmanship is balanced by fun experimentation with water colours and acrylics. He’s always open to trying new things.
Jake also participates in the Phoenix After Hours Youth Art program, where he experiements with other mediums including digital arts, performace & ceramics.
He also works at Phoenix which fulfils his love for being a part and giving back to community.

Tim Pearson
Tim has been developing his art practice for over 15 years as part of the Artist in Action group.
Tim’s drawings and paintings are uninhibited and expressive. He has a great sense of line and composition.
His artwork is tranquil as he often likes to immerse himself in his work. His love for nature is reflected in his pieces, as well as his peaceful, kind nature.

Paul Gibson
Paul is a happy Bowraville local bringing with him his talent & fun-loving personality to Artists in action.
His work is colourful and detailed and his sense of humour is evident in his creations.
Paul is very interested in exploring his creativity. He is also part Phoenix Potters & Phoenix Stars.
In 2024 Paul won 1st Prize ceramics at Macksville show, and his paintings were highly commended on both the Macksville Show and The Phoenix Art Prize.
STITCH
& YARN
A space to upcycle, create, and explore various forms of fiber art, including sewing, stitching, weaving, crochet, and felting.
This is an opportunity to craft your own unique pieces, repair items, transform old clothes, and reuse materials, helping you buy less. Plus, it's a way to be more mindful of our impact on the planet.

The Phoenix All Stars are always welcoming new members to join their creative galaxy!
Explore and develop performance skills in acting, singing, playwriting, stage design, dancing & puppetry.
Gain confidence, express your emotions, and most importantly, have fun while making lasting memories and friendships!
MUD WARRIORS
Step into our vibrant ceramics studio, fully equipped with spinning wheels, a kiln, and all the essential tools to help bring your creative ideas to life!
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn a variety of techniques, including handbuilding, wheel throwing, glazing, and decorating, allowing you to create both functional and sculptural pieces that are truly unique.
Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, our studio is the perfect place to explore and develop your pottery skills.
